"Impression on the World 2000"

A project for the Millennium, this involved casting 150 children’s feet and placing them on a large globe, diameter 50” (164cm). The essence of each individual pupil is clearly represented, as indeed is their dependence on each other and on our planet.

The work was commissioned by Blackheath Nursery and Preparatory School, South East London.

The same style can be used on a much smaller scale. Examples of such pieces, using hand casts, have included the sensitive touch of a mother and new born baby, grandparents with grandchildren, brothers and sisters.
